Bag in A Box

Here is another idea for a cute Christmas Gift.  The pattern comes from the "Bag in a Box" instruction sheets that were given out at a break out session at this year's convention.  This little bag is very easy to make and I have stuffed it with an embellished pair of gloves.  Here are the directions to make this cute gift item:

Tote Base:  Cardstock cut to 5 in. x 2 1/4 in.  Score at 1/2 inch all around all four sides.  Cut on the score line at the corners in the same direction to make tabs and adhere to the box base to form the rectangular box.

Tote Body:  Cut DSP 11 in x 3 1/4 in.  Adhere sticky strip to the long 11 inch side (only one) and also one 3 1/4 side.  Beginning on the 2 1/4 inch side of the box base already made, wrap the DSP around the base box adhering as you go but do not crease the corners.

Tote Trim:  Cut four pieces of cardstock 6 in x 1/2 in. each  Place sticky strip on each piece and adhere the strips to the top and the bottom of the bag starting on the side and wrapping around to the other side, making sure the seams meet on the sides.

Tote Handles:  Cut cardstock 8 1/4 x 1/4 inch for the handles.  In the picture above I used 1/2inch wide handles.  Cut two pieces and curl slightly with bone folder and attach to the bag with brads,  Embellish the bag as desired.

Paper : Real Red Cardstock
DSP  : Merry Moments DSP
Ribbon: Real Red satin 1/4 inch
