Remembering a lesson from my upline, Julie Brancart, I thought I'd try making the background for this beautiful card using the new "Helping Me Grow" stamp set, available for purchase on January 5, 2016. In doing this technique, we took three different but related in color Stampin' Up markers and selected an acrylic block. Our instructor demonstrated using the three colored markers by coloring them in three squares on the acrylic block, taking up the entire block surface. We then took the "spritzer" and lightly misted the ink with the water mist and proceeded to stamp on the Whisper White card stock we were given. I was really impressed with how it turned out, and marveled at the different techniques that we can use to create our stamped images.
So with the above example, I chose the three markers of Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, and Bermuda Bay. As you can see the colors are distinct from each other and provided a beautiful palate for the floral stamped image from the stamp set.
I stamped the image of the hyacinths with black ink onto the tri-colored background. I colored the flower in with Wisteria Wonder and colored in the stems with Old Olive green. If the markers are not available, you can use the stamp pad itself and use blender pens to color the image. I used the card base in Bermuda Bay, lined it with Wisteria Wonder, and used Whisper White for the image itself. Add some Wisteria Wonder Ribbon and you have a beautiful greeting card. Easy to make and it turns into a beautiful birthday greeting card using the Cottage Greetings Stamp Set. Hope you like the card and I hope that you consider purchasing the stamp set after January 5th. It will be one you will look for and use frequently.
Thanks for stoppin' by!
