Elegant Butterflies

I love purple and I love to try new ideas from other web sites and I found a card that I absolutely loved.  It was layered and triple stamped and triple embossed.  So Michele1 at, you've inspired me to do something similar.  Here is the card I made but instead of a triple layer and emboss, i only did two.

PCCCS # 186
  • Start with the standard card size, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches in Whisper White card stock.
  • Layer Elegant Eggplant, 4 x 5 1/4 inches.
  • Layer Whisper White card stock, 3 3/4 x 5 inches.
  • Layer Elegant Eggplant, 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches.
  • Last layer the stamped Whisper White card stock surface, 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 inches.
I chose the floral stamp from the " What I Love" stamp set from Stampin' Up, now available for purchase.  Flowers were stamped randomly along the left side of the card by stamping off 2 and 3 times to obtain the lighter effect.  I also added leaves and another small flower from the same set to fill in areas that needed coverage.  After stamping, I embossed the right side of the card with the Anna Griffin Paisley Dance embossing folder in a flourish pattern which added some dimension to the surface of the card.  I added 3 butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and punched them out with the small and larger butterfly punches.  Those were attached with glue dots to the face of the card.  I also used some Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the flowers softly as well as the butterflies and used the 2 Way glue pen to adhere the glitter.  I thought the card turned out pretty nicely.

Don't forget that this is the best time to purchase any Stampin' Up supplies because the Sale A Bration is currently in progress.  For each $50 in product orders (before shipping and handling) you will receive a free product from the Sale A Bration Catalog.  What a great way to get quality products free!  If you would like to make this card, listed below are all of the products used to make this card.  If you would like to order you can go to my Stampin' Up web page at and order online or gather the item numbers and send me an email ( and I will be happy to order the items for you.  Here's what you'll need:
