Best Thoughts Floral-PCCCS#187

PCCCS# 187

Hello Friends,
Made this card in response to the Paper Craft Crew Challenge #187.  The following is the template that we were to use to create our version of the card:

PCCCS164-203 Sketch-006

We could use any color paper, ink, or inspiration we find as long as it meets the sketch outline.  Here's the recipe for my card:

  • Blushing Bride card stock measuring 4 x 5 1/2 inches.  This is the base layer.
  • DSP of a striped pattern in Blushing Bride (can't remember the name of the packet it came from), cut at an angle to add some interest and dimension.
  • One piece of Blushing Bride card stock that measures 4 x 3 inches to wedge behind the angled piece.
  • The background of the card was cut from Elegant Eggplant at 3 3/4 x 5 inches.
  • I used the oval framelits to cut an oval pattern from Whisper White card stock, which would be the surface of the stamped image of the flower.
  • I also used the next size up oval framelit to cut an outline of the oval out of Elegant Eggplant to accent the oval piece and to bring out the color of the flower which I water colored in Blushing Bride.  Prior to the water coloring, I powder embossed the flower image in silver embossing powder after inking the stamp in Versamark.  I found that when I emboss on regular card stock, the embossing acts as a barrier for the colored water so it doesn't run all over the card face.
  • I used two punches for the circles that contain the Blushing Bride ribbon bow, one 1 1/2 inches in diameter and the larger at 1 3/8 in diameter.  I added a few pearls to accent the card and it was finished.  A very pretty card that really doesn't require too many complicated instructions to follow to complete.  Please try it and tell me how you liked doing the project...and thanks for taking a peek!
