I've been busy making some home decor ideas for the fall and came up with this "Paisley Pumkin"!
This is an 8 x 8 inch black shadow box frame that is lined with Designer Series Paper that looks like gold
sprinkles on white paper. The next layer is a 7 x 7 layer of gold foil paper. On top of that is a piece of 6 x 6 inch Very Vanilla paper. At the bottom of this vanilla page I powder embossed "Give Thanks" with gold embossing powder and heat. This is from the stamp set called "Holiday Invitation" which is now retired. This may be available on a secondary market if you desire to purchase it.
The pumpkin is downloaded from a series of clip art that measures about 5 1/2 inches wide, I traced the pumpkin on silver foil paper. After cutting out the pumpkin, I used one of the paisley dies from the "Paisley Framlit Dies" that is available now in the holiday catalog. I cut four pieces of the pattern for the top of the pumpkin and four pieces for the bottom. I added two of the pieces that look like a leaf pattern and cut them out using foil tape which can be found at home Depot. This tape is used for taping duct work together by HVAC pros. It is foil on one side and sticky on the other and much easier to use than aluminum foil and card stock.
After gluing all of the paisley pieces in place, I added the leaves which i had colored green with alcohol ink. I used an orange alcohol ink to then color the paisley pieces and the rest of the pumpkin. I added a little more ink to make the paisley pieces a little darker than the pumpkin to make them stand out. I added a gold bow and was finished. This is a great project which I will be selling at my November craft show here locally. This also makesa great hostess gift for Thanksgiving dinner and as a decor piece for your home decor.
I hope you liked my project and i hope you'll try to make it for yourself or to give as a gift. Until next time, ....
