Long Note Card Holder and Six Note Cards

This is my first project in a while as I have been ill with some kind of virus!?? So this is my latest project, The Stampin' Up! Long Note Holder Suite.  The holder contains space for 6 note cards with matching envelopes and I have put this pictorial tutorial for you so you can make this too!  One of the easiest projects I have done, I think you will knock this one out of the park in less than an hour...
Here's what you should do:

  • Select a DSP paper you would like to decorate the outside of your holder and select some matching card stock.
  • Cut the base of the note card holder from the card stock you selected at 10 3/4 x 5 3/4 in.  Score on the long side at 5 & 5 3/4 in.
  • Cut the card stock selected for the pocket that will hold the note cards...8 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches. Score on three sides at 1/2in. and 1 1/4 in.
  • As you can see by the crossed area, cut the outer three squares and remove.  Cut the tab on the score line from the short side toward the middle on both sides (see the squiggle line...that's the cut line).
  • Fold on all the score lines and you will see the pocket form.
  • Take 26 in. of matching ribbon and attach to the back cover with tear and tape.
  • Glue with liquid glue or tear and tape the pocket to the inside bottom of the cover.  Finish tying the bow to the front side of the holder.  The ribbon serves as the anchor to hold the cover in place so DO NOT tape the ribbon down.
  • Cut the card stock for the pocket separator at 2 1/2 x 1 7/8 in. and score on the long side at 1/2, 1 1/4, & 2 in.  See the picture below:

  • Fold on the score lines in the form of a "W" and glue together to form an upside down "T".  Glue the separator into the pocket so that the cards and the envelopes can be stored separately.

  • Add the DSP selected to the front of the note card holder and add the long narrow DSP to the front of the pocket...Here is a picture of the inside..
  • Decorate the cards as you wish and add the six cards and envelopes to your holder and you have a very beautiful gift !

Heartfelt Valentine Card

 Heartfelt Valentine Card

Glad you joined me to see how easy this card is made.  It has an interesting tab closure that is different and I hope you and your recipients will wonder as to how we did it.  So the following are the directions and measurements of how to make this card.  Will also be adding a video so you can see first hand the details of each card element.

  • Flirty Flamingo Card Stock
  • Real Red Card Stock.
  • "From My Heart" Designer Specialty Paper
  • Heart Punch Pack
  • Classic Label Punch
  • Heartfelt Stamp Set
  • Stitched Be Mine Dies

  • Cut Flirty Flamingo Card Stock to 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches.  Score at 4 1/2 inches.  This is the card base.
  • Remove 1 1/2 inches from the card base and save for use as the tab closure.  Score this piece at 3 1/4 and put through the scalloped Heart Punch pack to create a scalloped design on the tip of the strip.
  • Cut a piece of DSP 2 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches and adhere to the card base front.
  • Take the Classic Label Punch and punch through the card stock and the dsp to make a hole for the tab.
  • Depending on how far into the card you punched the hole, take the strip of Flirty Flamingo that you have scored and adhere the scored side to the back of the card base.  Ensure that the tab will reach the hole you punched before gluing to the back of the card.
  • Punch two scalloped hearts with the scalloped heart punch in Real Red card stock.
  • Punch two plain edged hearts with the plain heart punch in Flirty Flamingo card stock.
  • Find the scalloped heart designer series paper and punch a Flirty Flamingo printed scalloped heart from the pack of DSP.
  • With the Big Shot cut out two Flower / Leaf patterns shaped from Real Red card stock from the Stitched Be Mine Die set.  Also cut a multi heart piece from the Stitched Be Mine Die set in Real Red card stock.
  • Glue the scalloped hearts to the plain hearts and add the floral / leaf pieces together. You will have two sets when completed.
  • Take the embellished hearts and attach to the front of the card closure with the tip of each heart just covering the hole you punched with dimensionals. Place one heart at the top and at the bottom of the hole.
  • Take the punched scalloped DSP heart and stamp with Real Red Ink "Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue" on the front of the DSP heart and attach this heart with dimensionals but only on the left side of the hole punch.  This will allow you to pass the tab closure through the hole and this will hide the hole itself, so the front of the card and the hole is covered.
  • Add the multi heart die cut piece to the tab, trimming off the excess to decorate the tab closure.
  • Add a piece of Real Red card stock measuring 4 x 5 1/4 inches as a liner to the inside of the card base.
  • Take a piece of Whisper White Card Stock measuring 3 3/4 x 5 inches and stamp "So Lucky To Have A Friend Like You" and Happy Valentines Day to the card.  Add additional small hearts in Flirty Flamingo.
  • Adhere the just stamped piece to the inside of the card and you are DONE!

Birthday Cheer --Easel Style

It's been a while since I did an easel style card and I thought it would be a great opportunity to do one this week for my classes.  They have been asking for a "man" card and the stamp set "Geared Up Garage" fit the bill.  So let's get started...

As Shown, you will need the following:

  • Night of Navy Card stock, 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches, scored at 4 1/4 inches.
  • Two pieces of Garden Green card stock, 2 3/4 x 1 7/8 inches.
  • Two pieces of DSP, (Argyle Patterned paper in this example), 1 1/4 x 4 inches.
  • Scrap pieces of Whisper White card stock for the "All Geared Up Greeting", using the Nested Stitched Dies, the car stamp, from the Geared Up Garage stamp set and cut out with the Garage Gears dies, and the greeting "Birthday Cheer To You All Year" from the Parcels and Petals stamp set.
  • Navy and white Baker's Twine
  • One piece of card stock of Soft Sea Foam, 4 x 5 1/4 inches
  • One piece of scrap Night Of Navy card stock for the Pretty Label Punch and to cut out the gears.
  • After scoring the card base, using the paper trimmer, cut on each side a 1 1/2 inch strip just to the score line, thus making two thin flaps, and one larger middle flap.
  • On the middle flap, score at 2 1/8 inches.
  • Adhere the Soft Sea Foam inside liner to the Night of Navy card base.
  • On the two outer thin flaps, adhere the argyle DSP, one on each flap.'
  • On the middle flap, adhere the Garden Green card stock pieces, gluing one above and one below the score line.
  • Stamp the car on the Whisper White card stock scrap in Night of Navy ink and cut out with die and adhere to the lower portion of the middle flap on dimensionals.
  • Tie the bakers twine in a bow after wrapping around the flap twice.
  • Cut out the gears from the die set and adhere to the top area above the car roof.
  • On the scrap Whisper White card stock, stamp "All Geared Up to Celebrate" in Garden Green ink and cut out with the stitched nested die and adhere to the upper middle flap.
  • Glue down the two thin flaps to adhere to the Soft Sea Foam interior.
  • Bend the middle flap at the score line and lean against the punched Night of Navy / Whisper White stamped "Birthday Cheer To You All Year" greeting which you will adhere to the card base with dimensionals.  This birthday greeting card will make someone smile when they receive it.  Enjoy making this simple "man" card!

Timeless Tulips

Hello Friends,
I have made another card for my card class and thought I'd post it on my blog so you can see how this pop - up card came together.  Although it looks too complex to consider, it is mostly comprised of stamped flowers that you must cut out by hand.  That is the most time consuming part of making this card.. so if you are willing, I would be happy to show you how this card comes together.

  • The card base is made from the Highland Heather card stock made by Stampin' Up!  It is cut at 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches and scored at 4 1/4 inches.
  • The liner for the face of the card is Whisper White card stock, 4 x 5 1/4 inches.
  • The scalloped strip is punched from the Ribbon Punch (retired) by Stampin' Up! and it measures 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches.
  • The striped DSP is from the collection of Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper, 3/4 inch x 5 1/4.
  • Whisper White card stock is used to stamp a large and medium size tulip flower and two leaves that are stamped in Gorgeous Grape and Petal Pink inks for the flowers and Old Olive for the leaves.  Punch out the large tulip and the leaves with the Tulip Builder Punch available from the mini catalog on the Stampin' Up web site. Hand cut the smaller tulip.
  • Adhere these two flowers and leaves with dimensionals to the front of the card after you have stamped your choice of tulips, stems, and leaves to the Whisper White card stock liner.
  • Adhere the ribbon strip you punched to the back side of the horizontal striped DSP and adhere to the front of the card with dimensionals.  At this point the front of the card should be complete
Inside of the Card:

  • Cut a piece of Whisper White Card stock 8 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches and score at 4 1/8 inches.
  • See the grid pictured below.  Draw light pencil marks from the tick points on the ends and in the middle of the card.  Then take the paper trimmer and score where outlined and cut where highlighted.

  • After cutting and scoring the interior of the card, push out the middle and fold on the card fold line and you will have the interior that looks like this:

  • Take each half and apply glue tape to the outline and adhere to the inside of the Highland Heather card base.  Glue each half separately to ensure that the interior of the card is centered in the card base.
Now to Assemble the Interior of the Card:

  • Take a piece of designer series paper that has a wood grain pattern in it to resemble a tub.  My piece measured 3 x 2 inches and I took a small wedge off of each side of the paper to shape it to look like a tub.
  • Take all of the stamped flower images and leaf images that you cut out by hand and arrange them on top of the top of the tub and add additional flowers behind.  When adding flowers and leaves, be sure to position them so that they will not protrude out of the lines of the card when the card is closed.
  • Take a piece of Highland Heather cardstock, 5 x 2 3/4 inches and emboss using the embossing folder of your choice. Adhere to the top inside of the card interior.
  • Stamp the "happy birthday" greeting in Highland Heather ink on a piece of scrap Whisper White card stock and cut out using the Painted Labels dies. Adhere to the embossed piece with dimensionals.  Add a tulip and leaf for accent.
  • Wrap ribbon around the base of the tub and adhere a knotted piece on top with glue dots.
  • Add all the flowers and leaves and arrange to suit.
  • Add the vertical strip of DSP 1 1/4 x 5 inches and line with another punched strip with the ribbon punch to the bottom of the card.  Your beautiful card is ready to bring a smile to whoever is the lucky person to receive it.
This card is a birthday greeting but you can also use this card for Mother's Day, Sympathy, Thinking Of You, Easter, or Spring.
